For all you hairdressers... I love the colour...?

there are so many brunette ash tones out there that I want to try badly. ever time I go to a beauty store I find a color I like and ';ash'; is in colour name. I once dyed my hair a 'ash', I think Light Ash Brown, colour. When the light hit my hair you could see a green tint throughout my hair. So, why is this? This happened when I was young around 13, and yes it was from a box at a department store. But I heard from a few people and hairdressers that some people can't use 'ash' tones. I still dye my own hair, and I use ion products from the local beauty store. Do you think I would be safe now?? I am scared to try it, but I want to badly because I love the colours... suggestions please!!For all you hairdressers... I love the colour...?
The reason you are seeing a green cast to your hair is because 'ash' means green. Usually you use an ash based color when trying to counteract orange (your hair must not have a lot of golds in it) I would stick with the N series just to make sure you don't get the green. For all you hairdressers... Putting ash over blonde hair will definatley make it go green. If you are ineterested in going an ash tone but nervous about the results, your best bet is to speak with a professional, they will be able to look at your hair and asess the best colour for you. Don't risk ruining your hair by doing it yourself!
