How to explain to hairdressers how to cut asian hair?

I already asked a similar question to this and i had some good answers from people. I tried numerous places but i still cant achieve the hairstyle i want unless i get it cut in china or hong kong. im a teenage boy and i never manage to get the hairstyle i would like unless i go on holiday. I did alot of research and found out that to cut it i need layers each being shorter then the previous layer starting from the bottom so the hair at the center of my head has the shortest layers. i tried by having 7-8 layers at first but i still can't achieve the effect i would like and i tried pictures aswel :(. I was wondering am i asking for too much or too little layers or have i just got the technique of it wrong? i dont go on holiday till next year so i cant ask yet.

This is the type i would like to know how to explain to be cut.

Not sure how I can fully explain this but, the way you have said you have layered your hair seems to fit what is needed to get the style in the youtube video. Just remember that when you are getting you hair cut into layers also ask them to thin out your hair. If your hair is too thick that you get a much different effect. Either then that, try bringing a picture of what exactly you want and show it to the Stylist and you may find the results a little better if you find a place run by asian hairstylists (Sorry if that sounded racist, not trying to be.)

Btw try out some of the Gatsby Moving Rubber line if you don't already use it.How to explain to hairdressers how to cut asian hair?
look around and investigate before you settle on a stylist, go to different salons and drop all kinds of questions.
take a picture of what you want into the salon. A good stylist will know how to work with your hair and create the look you want. The cutting technique you described for achieving that style is correct and a common practice in all salons around the world.

also keep in mind that you're hair may not be as thick as the model's hair or the model may actually be wearing a hair piece or have hair extentions to help thicken their hair.

you may need to also use styling product to help your hair look the way you want it to. If you noticed, in the first video that the model was using a styling paste to spike out his hair.
