So I have thick, rather curly, brown, frizzy hair. I hate it. I want to wear it out, but If I do, it will go frizzy, really frizzy. No products seem to work and I haven't asked a professional yet, well I've asked one, but it's best to get many opinions. So what I want is beautiful, shiny, smooth, silky, NON-FRIZZY hair. How can i do this??!!! I do not want a perm or anything else that doesn't work permanently like: hair straightening, perming, heaps of product, etc. So please help me!
Thankyou so much to everyone who answers this question!!I NEED PROFESSIONAL HAIRDRESSERS to ANSWER THIS QUESTION!!!!!!!?

Simple :)I NEED PROFESSIONAL HAIRDRESSERS to ANSWER THIS QUESTION!!!!!!!?
Hmmm. well you are born with the hair you have. there is no cure for it. Your hair folicles(since you say it's curly) are oval shape if you were to look at them under a microscope. Straight hair depends on circular folicles. I hate to say, but there is no permanent way of straightening your hair. A good way to get it pin straight for a while is(don't laugh) put it on an ironing board and have someone go over it with a steam iron. BE EXTREMELY CAREFULL!!
Unfortunately we who have the frizzys usually don't like it.. Especially when the fair weather gets damp or the humidity changes on us... IF you don't want to pay out for the straigtening then why don't you wash it, let it dry a bit, then twist it up, all the way to the end, tuck it, and then clip it in with one of those claw like clips. When it drys it will come out silkier, not frizzy, and be a soft wave and straighter.
Believe me, the new straighteners that the high end salons are using are miracle workers if your hair is virgin. They don't go curly for months until they GROW out from the scalp.. They are a bit pricey but well worth it.. Or if you have the time to sit and and blow out each and every strand then do it... Use a cold setting or else the heat will frizz you... Brush and blow.
It can be done.....
You should use products geared towards biracial hair...or latin hair.
FIRST, go to this site for naturally curly girls: http://www.naturallycurly.com/
I guarantee that you will find better answers than on this site. You will also get to 'type' your hair (http://www.naturallycurly.com/hair-types ), and see what products work based on that. Then from there, you can figure out how to straighten it, but yet keep the curl.
I would suggest a million things, but it's best to bookmark the site I provided and ask the girls in the forum - they have hair just like you!! :-)
Oh - and try getting a 'wash %26amp; set' from a local dominican salon. A wash and set is when they wash and deep condition your hair, then set it in big rollers..then sit you under the dryer for about 45 minutes. Then they blow dry it SUPER straight. You'll like it!! Most dominican women have naturally curly hair ranging from loose to tight kinky curls...so they are excellent in this area.
There is a new informercial out on TV now and it is by a guy named Chaz Dean and he sells a new product called Wen.....he sells a whole line and I have heard nothing but good things from this shampoo and conditioner....you may want to try it...1-800-757-2100....can't hurt to try since you seem to be more annoyed with the frizzies than anything. Call and ask them questions.....like.....
Does it really tame the frizzies the way your show says it does?
How long do I have to return the product if it does not do what I want it to do?
Sweety..just go to a hair salon and let them try some different products on you..stop wasting your time on here asking the same question
Wash your hair every second day with a moisturizing shampoo and deep condition your hair once a week. This will help to lock in moisture and manage some of the frizziness.
When out of the shower I recommend getting a spay in, leave-in conditioner, something like, even like Pantene Pro-V. Then buy a anti-frizz serum. Some are alright from the drug-store but I would recommend going into a salon and asking for a product there. Silk Therapy is amazing and it goes a long way.
When drying your hair, if you use a blow dryer and brush make sure every section is totally dry before you go out. This is one of the biggest mistakes that people make. You hair should be bone dry, you can even apply a little gloss and hair spray when you are finished. (Assuming your hair is blown staight.)
If left curly and you let it air dry, try the leave in conditioner and serum and after combing your wet hair out, don't come again, only use your fingers as a brush can create frizz.
If you find all these product too much, just use in less amount until you find the amount that works for you.
If you are still having problems, next time you are at your stylist ask her what she recommends, she knows your hair best.
Just don't buy hundreds of products, so many of them are the same.
Hope this helps.
your hair is frizzy because your hair needs moisture, bad! i suggest headshot shampoo and conditioner by cat walk, and if you have the money, alternating smoothing shampoo and conditioner by s factor. its a little more pricey but works wonders. and deep conditioning treatment like serious condtioner by s factor will leave your hair smooth and silky. your hair just needs more attention. if you dont find any of these products specifically or if you dont have the money, just focus on hydrating shampoos and deep conditioners. leave in conditioners is a must. if you have any questions or concerns, or if you want to let me know how it goes, feel free to email me (novafemine@yahoo.com). im a hair dresser for toni%26amp;guy (maker of bed head, catwalk, and s factor. i specialize in color and health bar treatments. hope this helps. your hair is very difficult so i am not surprised you dont get good answers. have patience because it will take a while for your hair to get the hydration it needs. good luck. : )
