Want to go to the hairdressers but paranoid, HELP!?

About 5 years ago i caught a terrible case of nits/head lice, which was extremely embarrassing, finally, after trying out over 5 different treatments i found one that actually worked.


I haven't had any since, i want to go to the hairdressers, but i am so paranoid, i know i dont have any, but i can't help thinking ';what if';.


Has anyone any experience of this, did you ignore you paranoid feelings and just went?

o.k. first of all we don't all want your ';money and tips';. lice is extremely catching and if you were to have them the stylist would stop cutting immediately and send you home with a recommendation of what to do. any good stylist would know what nits look like wet or dry. second if you had them 5 years ago you certainly don't now. you would know, i promise. dont be paranoid and go get a hair cutWant to go to the hairdressers but paranoid, HELP!?
I had head lice when I was like 17, and even after they were gone I was obsessed with them. I checked my hair every day, usually three or four times, just feeling through the whole thing for nits, and going through it with a lice comb.





If I were you, I would just go. You know you don't have them, and it is embarrassing, but hair dressers deal with stuff like that all the time. They won't think any less of you for it. If you are still worried about it, try washing your hair with tea tree shampoo a couple times, it kills those suckers and then you don't even have to worry about it ;)





Also, as a side note, if you are ever worried about getting it again, try using products like hair spray or gels/mousses on your hair daily. It coats the hair and lice can't live it in. So even if you come in contact with someone who has it, you're protected.
Ok first off, it is possible you may have nits but its also possible you don't have them so ask ur mum to check for them, if you have them then use full marks nit lotion and wear it overnight, rinse off in the morning and remember not to go near anyones head, u'll get used to it.





Secound off, its actually really hard for ur hairdresser to spot nits because they are normally in the roots of your hair which your hairdresser won't see unless you get a wet cut where they wash your hair.





Just remember that the hairdressers won't say or do anything if you


have nits and they all hav probally had them once in their lives and they


will all understand. Also remember your PAYING them to handle ur


hair and won't mention the nits to you or anyone else and if they do,


they'll probally get fired and lose their job.





Not all hairdressers are snobs hun xx

Actually i had nits once


It was only one but i was so embarresed because it was in front of everyone at th e hairdressers but you just have to forget about it, i mean hairdressers get loads of people like that ! Anyway its a natural thing, it could happen to anyone


So just go !


(if that didnt help then just go to another hairdressers)

the lice can come once and then if you have the treatment when there gone they rarely come back once so go and if you have them send me as much hate mail as you want
one time my hair was really dirty but I still went and have them wash it out lol. They could careless, i mean all they want are your $$ and tips
