Blonde to Brunette?? - Hairdressers only please!?

Hi there,

So I'm a blonde (highlighted) and keep contemplating going brunette to avoid my stupid dark roots. My hair is naturally quite dark, but I'm also naturally very pale. My skin isn't great, and so I have to wear a studio fix make-up and I'm scared if going brunette will make it obvious.

Sooooo... my actual question is: Would I be able to use one of those cheap 拢3-拢5 wash-in/wash-out hair colours in a dark brown to see if it suits me? Or would it go weird because of my highlighted hair?

I'm worried if I get it dyed brown professionally, if I hate it, it will take a long time to get back to the nice blonde colour I have now.

Please help!

Thanks in advance xBlonde to Brunette?? - Hairdressers only please!?
on very light blonde hair, theres always a risk that the dark colour pigments will stain the hair for longer than the time stated (however many washes). it will fade in time, but its likely to taken longer that if you had light brown hair going dark brown for instance.you could try a strand test. snip a few of your highlighted hairs out (from the back of your head underneath) and apply a little of the colour and process as stated. once this is rinsed off and you see the colour result you can then wash the hairs with shampoo, dry it, wash it, dry it etc to see how quickly it does fade. this is quite time consuming obviously, but the only sure way to know how it will go on your hair.

good luck!Blonde to Brunette?? - Hairdressers only please!?
As long as your hair isnt a LIGHT blonde,

than the color should wash out fine.

There's usually a tint of color still left.

As long as you don't get a SUPER cheap

wash out color,

you should be okay.

I wouldn't do a dark brown washout, though.

It might be too dark to wash out completely.

I suggest getting a color spray.

Your color goes back to normal as soon as you

wash your hair.

But, that's only too see if you like the color,

since it makes hair stiff until washed out.

Good luck! :)
do not use a cheap DIY hair dye...it can go soooo wrong if you change more than 1-2 shades. Your best bet is to gradually have darker streakes put thru it and carry on until you find a colour you like. that way you can stop if its too dark for you, and a darker hair colour will flatter the face more than blonde
Your hair color will not make it obvious that you wear make up :)
