Recently, my friend got hired to do several differen't young ladies hair for a pageant in small town. (3 nights, several different categories) Some of his clients, included the reigning Miss ';Small Town'; (change of town), the emcee for the night, as well as a winner from the night before. While he was getting one of the ladies ready, he was told to leave, the contestant that one got threatened to loose her crown. Yet, one of the pageant directors, a male, was going in and out of the rooms, plus he also did some hair on several nights. He is not a licesened cosmetolgist like my friend. Do you think this is right? What suggestions do you have to make next year be better? Remember, this is his job, these are his clients, and this event brings in a decent amount of income.Should Male Hairdressers be allowed to style hair for female contestants in a beauty pageant?
Yep. . . I prefer guys to females to do my hair. They know how they want to look as a female and females are too catty!!Should Male Hairdressers be allowed to style hair for female contestants in a beauty pageant?
If he is a good hairdresser and he likes what he does, I say stick to it.

It's the contestants hair and they should be free to allow anyone they were comfortable with do their hair.
I really have no idea.
Hope this helped some =)
I don't see why not
hells yes sumtimes guys do hair way better than girls
There is only ONE person whom I will allow to cut my hair, and that is the same guy who has been cutting my hair for the last 25 years.
The guy who is not a licensed cosmetologist is NOT allowed to cut hair for a fee under ANY circumstances. Barbers and hairdressers have to be certified by the state in which they work in order to cut and style hair, and the pageant director could receive a stiff fine for cutting hair without a license.
It sounds to me like the pageant director was trying to find a way to make some fast money at the expense of your friend, who spent a lot of money training to become a certified, licensed hair stylist. This isn't the least BIT fair toward your friend, and someone really needs to call the pageant director on what he was doing and then set down some ground rules for who is and is not allowed to style hair for the pageant.
