A question for Hairdressers please? or anyone who knows hair well (: xxx?

Alright well basically i'm just a bit sick of my hair looking the same, cause its either straight or wavy. anyway

Hair length: a bit below my shoulders

Colour: dark brown that ALMOST looks black

Fringe: kinda side sweapt to the left

Face shape: round

so anyway i want to give it more layers but keep the length more or less the same. so i was thinking a razer layer cut? and keep the side bangs? oh and my hair is naturally cutrly/wavy.

and for the colour, i'm not sure on whether i should colour it, cause i want luxurious chocolate brown hair but i dont want to ruin my hair by colouring it. this would be the 2nd time i've coloured it in 16 years. oh and my skin is a bit tanned.

so could someone please give me some ideas on what to do and some help?

thank you

Well because you have a round face I wouldn't suggest you get layers that will make your face look a bit off. My sister has a round face and for a while it was very hard for her to find a style that matched her well enough and she tried layers and it didn't work at all. Now the side bang yes definitely go with that because that will add more definition. Bobs, or V cuts work pretty well for people with rounder faces, so if you really want to have layers make them very simple not extremely blunt layers, along with a bob or V cut if you want to keep the same length or close to. And maybe a few layers around the face. Now as far as color chocolate brown sounds like it would be a good color for your skin tone as long as your aren't too tanned you know. You don't want the chocolate brown to clash. In those cases I would usually suggest you go and get some highlights along with the color so that it will blend in well. Don't worry as long as it's done correctly, you won't get any damage. So I would suggest you go to a stylist to get it done if you are skeptical doing it yourself.
