Any hairdressers or people who know a thing about hair dye? faiy liquid and re-dying qustionss..?

okay, ill try anbd do as much detail as possible, sorry for the essay..

about 1yr and half ago/2yrs i dyed my hair wiht a semi.perm. medium brown {nice n easy] thn as i washed it , it started to fade leaivng me with a ginger tint soi dyed it agen with same dye about a few months later, then the same once again. i was sick of the colour and having to keep re-dying it so i bought a permanent L'OREAL one [ closest to my natural hair colour which is a blondy brown, but the one i got was mainly light brown] so i did it and it left me full on ginger. i was upset so i re-dyed it dark brown with the same nice n easy and thn its faded to its old ginger again.

ive been using head and shoulders for a few months now and its only chnged slightly , mostly near roots[ no, im not stupid i know tht thats not just the new hairgrown thruu] so ive got some fairy liquid and im debating wheter to try itt. how long should i leave it on for , and yes i know it will kill my hairr. after tht, can i put another light brown/dark blondish dye on it cuz it would have been stripped again? will i have to out 2 dyes over it for the right colour? as a last resort yes i WILL go to the hairdressers :)

thank youu and im sorry it was long, i just wanted you to know the detailss :)Any hairdressers or people who know a thing about hair dye? faiy liquid and re-dying qustionss..?
Just so you know, Nice n easy isn't a semi perm color....as I believe you mix a developer with it. They claim it is, but semi is only if you don't mix anything with it. And of course L'oreal is a permanent color....all color with any developer will fade with a red tinge, therefore the ginger. The color may not have been dark enough to cover the ginger and you may have needed a darker color to cover it. Also those colors have 20 volume peroxide and they tend to fade more, where 10 volume is what you needed to deposit color.....easier on the hair too.

Actually the best thing for you to have gotten would have been a true semi perm color with no developer since that's what makes it fade.

Getting to the fairy liquid....I can honestly say I've never heard of it, but I did check it out and it seems to be a dish detergent from the UK. I guess you could try it, but if you go and put another tint with peroxide you will probably get the same results. Most box color has 20 volume and the quality is not as good as professional color. If you want to lighten it from a darker color it's probably not going to do it with tint, and that's why you keep getting a ginger, and tint will not lighten tint, so you're just damaging your hair unnecessarily. I don't think the fairy liquid will completely remove the haircolor and do more damage than good, and it could leave you with a bad color,......You'll probably have the same problem trying to use another tint over it.

I would go to a hairdresser for a couple of reasons.....first they can see your hair and what it needs to acheive what you want, and second they can give you other options. When you don't have the knowledge, leave it to those who do. You'll be much happier and less frustrated.

One thing that may work to blend in the different colors is having it highlighted. Putting some nice blonde streaks can do wonders when you seem to be having such a hard time getting rid of an unwanted color. Tell them everything you've done and they can do the best job for you.

look how long my answer was compared to your question. I too, get into detail.....the more I know the better it is to answer, and the more info I give you, the more you should be able to understand it. I wish everyone would give more details....Any hairdressers or people who know a thing about hair dye? faiy liquid and re-dying qustionss..?
aww thanx for ur help on my Q but i'm really sorry i've never died my hair b4 so i have no idea! :S

You should leave it on for about 20-30 minutes, and no, you won't need to re-dye it again, but if you're unsure about the outcome, leave it on for longer.

If it doesn't work, i'd suggest a darker color, because once you have that ginger color, you'll need something stronger, thicker, heavier, and darker, so when the two shades combine, it'll look like your hair color, you know what i'm saying?

I'm not a hair dresser but my mom is, and i've learned, so hope i helped! (=
