Putting a Semi-Permanent Dye in Natural Hair!!Hairdressers and Ladies Please Help?

African-American Natural Black hair..Will a semi-permanent dye work? ?

Okay i have natural african american hair--Not really as course as some. It's a little bit more wavy.--and it is black. but I was wondering if I would be able to get a semi-permanent dye or a rinse. Would the color show good because I read that curly hair is harder to color because of the curls and the fact my hair is black. I know for a fact, though, that I don't want my hair bleached or permanently dyed. PLEASE HELP.Putting a Semi-Permanent Dye in Natural Hair!!Hairdressers and Ladies Please Help?
You need to understand what a semi-permanent colour is and how it works. Study this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hair_colori鈥?/a>

This is an additive or cumulative colour. THat is, it works in addition to what you already have on your hair. You cannot ever go lighter with a semi colour. There is no lightening with this kind of colour. It works great for someone with light hair, because you have a wider range possible.

With very dark or black hair, you are very limited. You can make the black more intense, or deeper, or with more shine. You can give it a strong red hue... it will be shiny black with a glint of red. You can also use blue, which will give the same effect with a glint of blue in strong light. Yellow might not have much effect on black.

Yes, it will work... as long as you don't have unrealistic expectations. Know the limits of the product.Putting a Semi-Permanent Dye in Natural Hair!!Hairdressers and Ladies Please Help?
well it does depend on the color you are trying to accomplish.. if you really want to do this right go to Sally beauty supply if there's not one near you here's their website http://www.sallybeauty.com/ they are professionals who can not only give you advice but can sell you the right products and teach you how to use them too! oh and it wont cost you anything but the product purchase price not to mention an inexperienced salon employee who cab easily mess up your hair for a couple hundred dollars. Salons are great if you know the person you get is a pro with experience..
depends on the color, but theres really not much that will show up on black hair without bleaching it or lightening it in some way.
i did it. it didnt work. i couldnt notice a diff. and neither did anyone else. semi is a waste of time.
Black girls with hair that is like blonde is so retro and sexy- you should do that.
I would call a salon and talk to someone asking a question online some people could say they are a hair dresser and give you wrong info. You do not want your hair messed up.
the only best thing you could do before somthing may turn out bad is just go to a salon cause if somthing goes wrong there they have to fix it! hope i helped!!
it won't work as your hair is too dark. semi-permanent can only darken, not lighten.
