Help my hair turned orange after I bleached it? Hairdressers please answer?

I had naturally dark brown, to black hair. I really wanted to go blonde, but I did a huge mistake. I did my research, and

I stupidly followed the directions. This is what I did.

(1. Stripped my hair.

(2. Bleached my hair.

(3. Added the color.

I didn't do it all at once though.

It turned out bright - orange!

Please tell me step-by-step what I should do now! Should I dye my hair light brown and then add heavy highlights? (Will it

turn out blonde?)

Please help me. I've got school in a week, this orange hair doesn't look natural, it looks fake and ugly!

Thanks in advance.

Please don't tell me to visit a hairdresser because I can't. I don't have the money and I'll repeat that again - I can't.

I'm sorry but I'll flag your answer if you tell me to go to a hairdresser or save up for one. Thanks.Help my hair turned orange after I bleached it? Hairdressers please answer?
I'm a hairstylist and its hard to say exactly what to do without seeing it. My guess is that from what you said, orange was inevitable if your hair is dark. Its hard to get past a certain level with store bought items. So now you don't have the money, my best advice would be to first condition your hair for a couple days because bleach dries it out. Then go to a beauty store, like a sally's beauty, and talk to one the service reps. They will look at your hair and make a recommendation. By not seeing it, its hard to say what color to use or fill it with to make it look right again. If you go back to brown and add hi-lites, you'll get back to what you have now but probably worse. Coloring is not easy and if your not sure you end up being unhappy and in a mess.Help my hair turned orange after I bleached it? Hairdressers please answer?
Okay well, have you tried a blonde toner? When I bleached my hair it had orange spots and the toner make them blonde. Go to a store that specialises in hair products and ask if a blonde toner will fix your problem.

If not...

Don't do anything to you hair for a couple of days. No straightening or blowdrying or anything. Just a very good deep conditioner. Condition so it feels less fried and dry.

After a few days when it feels less dry then dye it light brown. A lot of store blonde hairdyes turn out orange and brown hairdye from the shops is safer. Just not too dark of a brown or your hair might get a green tinge. (Been there, done that)

You could do heavy highlights, but do you think you'd be alright going to school with just light brown hair for a little while?

I seriously think you need a few week resting period before you do the heavy highlights. Your hair will be so so so dry.

Good luck.
not a hairdresser but if i were in your shoes i would cut my hair short in a cute style after the dye and yes try a color again.

i would look at the tone of the orange whether its warm or cool then i would choose a color that could combine with it on a similar level not too light or dark.

please note that you could fry your hair into fuzziness or burnt off in patches.

i hope a hairdresser does answer this you poor dear.

*****'s go blonde all the time so it is possible. i hope your next time is successful.
