Hi,
My hair has been dyed quite a few times before, and I have gone as dark as really dark brown/black (naturally my hair is a medium lifeless brown). The last time I decided to change my hair color, I had black hair which was grown out about 2-3 inches. I wanted to go a tad lighter, and knowing how DIFFICULT it is to get out dark hair dye, I used a Dye Removal Kit. I'm sure that I didn't apply it correctly, because my hair was a splotchy red color with dark streaks in it! Going against my better judgment, I decided to proceed with the dye, which was a dark brown with a reddish tint. At first, the dark streaks blended in reasonably with my hair, but after a few washes, the overall color lightened dramatically and the blackish streaks looked as ridiculous as ever! Now my hair is streaky, with reddish brown streaks here, and dark/almost black streaks there. ACK!
So, my question is....how long should I wait before dying my hair again? I last dyed it in the middle of June, and I am seriously considering dying it dark again just to get rid of the splotchiness! Any advice?Help, Hairdressers! How Long Between Dye Jobs?
PLEASE see a professional!
Your hair has a limit as to what it can endure and then it will turn into a substance that is not unlike bubble gum!. If you can't afford to have a professional do your hair, call around and ask if stylists in your area might need a model for a correction class.
Or you can go to a beauty school and ask them to use a DEMI PERMANENT color to darken it down.Help, Hairdressers! How Long Between Dye Jobs?
I'm one to dye my hair a lot so I kinda of know what you mean.
I would say if you want to dye it dye it
I've dyed my hair so much that whatever color I want to dye it to it goes that way.
but if you wanted to dye it a lighter brown from black I don't think you should have used the bleach out kit. I've used that before but only when I was putting blond in my hair is the thing.
you should have just dyed it the color you wanted.
but you should have went a shade or to lighter that way it would have turned out to color you wanted.
hope it helps....
