I know keeping your hair moisturized sounds like a common sense answer. Go with natural products, not oils sheens and greases that are usually loaded with mineral oils that will weigh your hair down and break it off and don't really give moisture. Also stay away from products with alcohol. Check out the ingredients first...
Try natural oils, like hemp seed, jojoba, or coconut oil; basically, look for essential oils that are rich in fatty acids.( I use hemp seed extract) These oils will also help seal the shaft to prevent splits. You hair will soak up the fatty acids and you'll have wonderful shine without the weighty greasiness.
. Nexxuss Humectress conditioner is a plus because it can be rinsed out after shampooing, but also used as a leave in conditioner.
Hope this helps...Black girls and hairdressers...caring for our hair in winter...HELP!??!!?
Neutrogena Triple Moisture Silk Touch Leave-In Cream - exactly what your looking for.
And if you need to after that you could use a really light braid oil to seal the moisture in.. Yaky Honey Almond Braid Oil worked perfect for me.
To prevent breakage, just don't use too much heat or heavy products, the first site has a hair care tips forum with good advice from girls with gorgeous hair.
Redken Overnight Treat from the Real Control line. Make sure to use a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner. Don't wash too often either.
