How do hairdressers do a full head dye?

I have naturally mousey blonde/brown coloured hair but I have blonde highlights which were put in at the hairdressers... Last week I used a home dye kit to dye my hair fully blonde, but I don't like the result, it is a slightly orange/blonde colour. So I want to go to the hairdressers and get a full head dye of a chocolately coloured brown, how do they do a full head dye, and approx. how much would it cost? Also would the colour come out right after what has already been done to my hair? Thanks! How do hairdressers do a full head dye?
The reason your hair turned orange-blond is because you were trying to go light over your natural hair color, which is too dark to ';lift'; the color. When you want to go lighter, it's best (I think) to go to a professional who knows how to use bleach, etc.

Keep in mind too that home hair dye kits are very harsh. They are not customized for you specifically; they are assembled for the public in general. The results are dry, brittle hair over the long run.

Keep in mind that celebrities who promote the various types of hair coloring are NOT using the kits. They are individually pampered by professional stylists using the line's color products, but not the kits.

That said, call around. Different salons charge different rates for color. Where I live, you can get full-head color for anywhere from $35 to $350. It depends on the salon, the experience of the stylist and the geography.

Ask friends for recommendations.

You will meet with the stylist and discuss what you want. The stylist will perhaps make suggestions and talk more about the color. Depending on the condition of your hair, s/he may have other suggestions (conditioning, oil treatments, etc.) The stylist will mix the color, apply it and perhaps set you under a heat lamp (depends on the product). The color is then rinsed, your hair washed, styled and dried.

Professional hair color costs more, yes. But in the end, you get great color and you preserve the health and beauty of your hair.

Hope this helps! How do hairdressers do a full head dye?
the hairdressers colors your hair fully by mixing some dye first of all then they put all around your head. then you wait for about 30 min. then they wash your hair then your done. it would approx. cost 10 or 20 dollars. i don't know if it would be even messier but i think that it wouldn't. i know this because i have highlights and i took mine out yesterday
they use a toner and a developer. Mix them, apply, add heat, rinse and voila! A full dye depends all on where you go, i'd suggest a reputable salon, call around. The color will stay once they do it, just don't wash it for a day and use the right shampoo and conditioner(for color treated hair)
i have blonde highlights to but i watched my sister have her hair fully brown color so heres how: you go to a salon and they will place all the dye color into your hair as one because it is one color for all your hair im not a pro im trying to remember how

hope i helpedthough
