To all hairdressers and people who are good with hair?

I have been colouring my hair blonde since i was about 14 years old (now 19), i was always a natural blonde when i was younger, but at around the age of 13 it started going darker so i started off using blonde highlighters cos i liked having blonde hair, and now every month im having to get my re-growth coloured blonde cos my natural roots grow through. I like being blonde but im sick of having to get my hair coloured all the time. My natural colour is like a mousey blondey colour and i really want that colour back. I just want to be natural again, but i dont want to go through the ugliness of having to grow out my hair for a few years (having the top deck look aint attractive to me) .. So whats the best way i can get my natural colour back? Im too scared to buy a box of colour from the shops cos it never looks on your head as it does on the box.

Thanks heaps to anyone with ideas =)To all hairdressers and people who are good with hair?
i think you should wait till your hair grows out a good 2 inches or so(i know its no attractive but i wouldnt take taht long considering how fast your hair grows) then go to the hair dresser ask for an expert colorer ask them you want them to dye your hair the color of your roots the closest possible and if you have to choose between 2 that are similar and one is light and the other is dark ALWAYs go for the lighter one.. It is soo much easier to dye over a lighter hair color then a darker one... GOOD LUCK....To all hairdressers and people who are good with hair?
you have a few options.

two things i have tried are:

one, dying it to the closest shade to my roots.

two, getting your hair ';stripped'; at the salon. this is a long boring process of stripping the current color out of your hair.
let your roots grow out a little bit and tell your hair dresser that you want that color back.when they dye it back you won't have to worry about hair again
Go to the hair dresser and ask for your natural hair color. Briing a pic from your younger age
Wait until the roots grow in about an inch or so until they are noticable. Don't go to department stores anyway, hair dye boxes are crap. Go to 'Sally Beauty Supply' and purchase a bottle of 20 or 30 developing creme'. Have someone there help you on choosing the right colour that most matches your natural hair colour. They have seriously billions of shades. So get the developing creme' and your natural shade toner and mix an even amount together. They will help you there and don't forgot you need a professional hair dying brush, unless you just want to use your hands. This will all be in a 10 dollar budget. And totally worth it. Good luck! And I know what you mean, I've been bleaching my hair blonde for years too, my case is worse though because it's dark dark brown naturally :/
